ABOUT THIS WEBSITE:
I know how popular Town Wide Yard Sales are (at least in my region of Southwestern Ontario). It's not always easy to find an organized list of Town Wide Yard or Garage Sales, so I decided to make this information available to the many who go searching for it during Yard Sale Season. There is no way to 100% verify the dates of the sales, so please consider this a disclaimer that this website, as well as any other advertisement that includes Yard Sale dates is NOT responsible for incorrect data. These sales are (sort of) organized by members of the community, but participation is voluntary, and many have no "official" groups or organizations responsible for advertising them. I have included some website links in the town list that might help you verify the dates or find other things to do in town. Because of the possibility of rain, incorrect date, or low number of sales, your best bet is to plan ahead to have lunch, visit local merchants, or wander a museum or park in the area. Some towns have rain dates listed, but most don't (which means very few sales if it rains). This website is a work in progress, and I appreciate any feedback or questions you may have (some questions may be answered in the next column). |
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS:
Q: Can I list my Church Sale, Bazaar, Fundraiser, etc? A: Short Answer: Not on the list of Town Wide Yard Sales. Longer Answer: The list was created for people looking for multiple locations having sales within a community or neighbourhood. However - you are welcome to visit the Facebook Page, and post a comment including your event poster when I post the Weekly list of Town Wide Sales. You are also welcome to buy paid Advertising on this website. Q: Why isn't my town/city on the list? OR Why doesn't my town have a Town Wide Yard Sale? OR How can I start a Town Wide Yard Sale in my town? A: This website only lists the yard sale dates that are submitted, but has nothing to do with organizing them. Larger cities don't have city-wide sales, some have neighbourhood sales. If your area doesn't, you can start one by discussing with a few neighbours, coming up with a date (often the best date is when your area is already hosting another tourist event), and then making a poster/flyer for your post office or for putting in people's mailboxes. It's highly recommended to have a Facebook page or event as well, so it can be shared. |
